Professional Competitons at Quinta da Marinha Golf Course:

• In 1988, Ladies Masters, a test which formed part of the Women's Professional European Circuit.
  It was won by the South African Laurette Maritz-Atkins.

• In October 2002, PGA Seniors Tour Championship, winner was England's Denis Durnian with -5.
  Tournament was decided after dramatic sudden-death play-off at the 10th. Denis Durnian faced Ireland's, former Ryder Cup star, Eamonn Darcy that conceded after hitting just one shot on the first hole of the play-off.
  One of the stars of the week was Ireland's Christy O'Connor Jr, finishing in the top 15th.

• In June 2007, Challenge Tour won by England’s Ross McGowan.
  Former Ryder Cup player Peter Baker, was leading after 3 rounds but couldn’t resist to McGowan’s fantastic final round of 66. McGowan finished at 12 under par, 272, and three strokes clear of Welshman Stuart Manley, who closed with a 68.
